Atkins Delivery
Dr. Atkins makes house calls
A three-cheese omelet made with egg yolks – and with a side of bacon! The Atkins Diet is a popular one because it doesn’t banish your favorite rich foods from your plates. Because Atkins promises that you will be able to enjoy your most sinful pleasures – red meat and Eggs Benedict – but you will lose weight too it’s no wonder that 1 in 11 North Americans hop on the Atkins band wagon.
You might think that ordering food for delivery while following the Atkins diet would be a problem; however, most restaurants now feature menu items with the proud Atkins stamp of approval. It shouldn’t surprise you that these items are also offered for take out and on their delivery menus.
If you are on the Atkins Diet, you won’t be hard-pressed to open up a phone book and find a restaurant that offers Atkins-friendly delivery foods. In fact, the Atkins eating plan is so popular that waiters don’t even miss a beat when customers ask for their club sandwich without bread, or a substitute of Greek salad instead of fries or baked potato.
If you are new to the Atkins plan, the food you order for delivery is no different than what you make at home . . . you still have to avoid the following on take out menus:
- Refined sugar
- Dairy
- White rice
- White pasta
- White flour
- Low fat spreads, dressings or cheeses
- Potatoes
It might surprise you to learn that the following favorite restaurants are offering Atkins-friendly low-carb delivery options:
- Applebee’s– with their new low-carb-a-licious Crispy Brick Chicken
- Ruby Tuesday– and their famous low-carb Cheesecake Delight!
- T.G.I. Fridays– offers mouth-watering low-carb options such as Cajun Chicken Quesadillas and Chicken Verde Enchiladas, and Cajun-seasoned chicken breast
- Red Lobster– has a new Lighthouse Menu featuring jumbo shrimp and steamed snow crab legs and Maine lobster – slurp!
- Quiznos– offering whole wheat wraps filled with fresh veggies as a substitute to sub buns, or turn your favorite sub into a low-carb flat bread
- Subway– Dig into an Atkins approved salad – classic club or grilled chicken and baby spinach
- In-N-Out Burger – opt for the low-carb hamburger wrapped in lettuce leaves instead of floury buns
